All tickets should be purchased at the Lough House when you arrive. We accept payment by cash or card.

Tickets

You can purchase Catch & Keep, Catch & Release, and Junior (13-18yrs) tickets at the Lough House.   Children under-13 can fish for free when accompanied by a ticket holding adult.  You must pay and sign-in before you start fishing.

Special offers are available to Senior Citizens (over-65’s) and fishing Club events.

A Rod Fishing Licence is required to fish at Sweethope Loughs. You can buy a Licence here . Under-13’s do not need a Licence. Licences for 13-16 year olds need to be registered, but are free. 

It is a condition of purchase that all anglers must adhere to our fishery rules.

Whilst there is often no necessity to book a boat in advance, demand for boats is high on club, event and competition days, so to avoid any disappointment it is advisable to contact us beforehand.

Special Offers

  • Senior Citizens (over-65’s) Special Days on Wednesdays and Fridays : 8 hours for £24 with a 2 fish limit and free boat hire. Motor and battery hire is available at a reduced price of £6.
  • Senior Citizens £2 reduction on ticketed sessions on all other days
  • Club Events £2 reduction per angler, except over-65’s on Senior Citizen Special Days.

Opening Hours

We are open seven days a week (excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day).

We do recommend that you always check our Facebook page for changes to our opening times due to weather, unexpected closures and any occasion where the fishery may be exclusively used for a competition or a charity event. We will always post short-term changes to our opening times on Facebook.

Summer

  • From around 21st March until 31st October we are open from 8.00 am.
  • On Mondays and Tuesdays we close at 6.00 pm. On all other days we close at dusk, the latest being 10.00 pm. in the mid-summer months

Winter

  • Fishing is on the Little Lough only
  • From 1st November until 14th March we are open from 9.00 am. and close at dusk

Fishery Rules

Our fishery rules are set to ensure that we continue to offer a high level of service and safety to all our anglers. Everyone who fishes our loughs should respect the habitat as well other anglers to ensure that everyone can thoroughly enjoy their fishing experience.

Anglers who do not follow our rules will be politely asked to leave, without refund.

General

  • You must pay and sign in before you start fishing
  • All nets must be dipped in our net dip before fishing
  • All flies must be barbless or debarbed with a maximum of 4 flies per cast. No doubles allowed
  • All brown trout must be returned
  • Boat anglers and float tube anglers must give way to bank anglers, and stay 30-40 metres clear

Bank Fishing

  • Wading no deeper than waist height is permitted on both The Great Lough and Little Lough at your own risk

Boats

  • Life jackets must be worn at all times in the boats. This is mandatory. We can provide life jackets or you can wear your own
  • Maximum 2 anglers to a boat
  • Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult
